I have my hedgie in a 96 quart clear sterilite tub. His wheel, food and water are at one end, his blanket, pvc tube at the other end with assorted toys in the middle.

Most people use the Sterlite tubs like Scarlette but we have kind of a unique set up for Louie.

My hubby made Louie's cage out of 5 pieces of glass. It's 3ft x 3ft and has no top since the sides are high enough. Normally I wouldn't recommend putting a hedgie in a glass aquarium because of ventilation problems but this is big enough & open enough that that's not a problem.

Hedgies like to burrow and so I put a blanket over part of his cage...he loves to hide under there & cuddle up with his stuffed animals.

He has a wheel, half a coconut to hide in, a house to sleep in, some PVC tube to run thru, stuffed animals & TP tubes. I change his toys around about once a week.

That's Izzybell's (hammie) cage on the shelf above Louie's cage.

It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures but it's a pretty nice cage and super easy to clean.

Here it is with the blanket pulled to the side so you can see all his toys & stuff. If you look close you can see him on the right side near the blanket...

thank you, thank you!! that cage is awsome Jodi!! I like Scarlettes idea as well! with a sterilite cage would you just drill holes in it for ventilation? I have been searching all morning & can't find a place to save my soul that sells hedgies anywhere around me Am I looking in the wrong places? I also was searching to make sure there aren't laws or regulations to owning a hedgie in MN but can't find anything? Do you know if there is such a thing?

Here is the link to Chins n Quills, which is a great resource for hedgies:
http://www.chins-n-quills.com/ They have a good size classified section there. I only know of that one breeder in MN (Milaca). I will ask one of my friends that frequents the pet stores in Bloomington, Edina, Burnsville, etc to keep an eye out for one. That might be your easiest route.

And if you do decide to do go with shipping a hedgie, the link that glidertales provided is to a very reputable & well known breeder.
