Question How to get my PD to lose weight

My prairie dog has recently begun to gain a lot of weight. We haven't changed his diet or anything, so I'm not really sure why he's gaining weight. We recently adopted another male PD and put them in the same cage. That is when Buttercup starting gaining weight. We separated them a few weeks ago because the new PD doesn't like my bf and will try to bite him when he would try to feed them or take Buttercup out to play. I don't know if Buttercup was trying to gain weight to be the bigger male or something, but he didn't start gaining weight until they were put in the same cage. Now they are in separate cages, but Buttercup still looks chubby. I just know that PDs will die if they are overweight, so I really need some help. Is there a certain diet I can put him on? He usually eats lettuce, carrots, corn on the cob, green beans, and hay. Thanks for any help you can offer!
