My PD's hair is falling of :(

I'm worried about my PD's hair. It has started to fall of from the tummy and legs. It does fall when petting him and he is not scratchig himself. I dont understand what is happening. He doesn,t seem sick. Our nother male isn't gettin "naked".

I've been thinking if it is because of our dry air in the house. It is cold winter here, so it can cause a dry air and therefore dry skin..

Does he have bald patches? My pd's normally shed *some* hair in the winter and then grow back really fuzzy thick hair, and then they'll shed that hair in the summer and go back to being really sleek.

yes, he has bald patches.. some other prairie dog owners in here have also said that it is normal for them to loose some hair, but I'm just so over carefull with my guys, I've had them only for 4 months with me so I'm still learning to know them

My little guy got into a tizzy one day and scratched all his fur off the one side of his right hip and left only the fine black hair. It has yet to grow back and there are no signs of inflammation or infection. skin is smooth and intact. He has no other naked spots with exception of this one place. Makes it much easier to tell which one is getting into the goodies when not supposed to now though lol.
