Exclamation Swollen eye on baby PD

My husband and I just got 3 new baby Prairie Dogs, ordered from a breeder in S.D. We have health certificates, etc. and no reason to think anything wrong - but one PD's lower eyelid started swelling 1 day after we got him, now its shut and another PD's lower eyelid starting to swell. It's only one eye on each, the other eye looks fine and they seem to be eating okay. They sleep a lot but they are still babies. We thought the first one might've scratched his eye on metal in cage (sticking his head through) - they are only 6-8 weeks old and I don't want to do anything too traumatic. They are handable. Now that the other one is looking the same, I'm worried its spreading and I need to separate the 3rd. Please help if anyone has had anything similar?? I heard to flush out the eyes with warm water - I'm too worried about trying anything more and hoping it'll just run its course. Help please - thanks!

I am sorry, I would bring him to the vet!

Thanks for the sympathy. I have already contacted a vet for tomorrow, but was going to see how tonight went. Is it anything common or anything anyone else has seen come up? I'm wondering if its something in the cage or the type of cage...

What kind of bedding are you using? Is it the same as what the breeder was using?

I would take them to a vet just in case it's something more than irritation. Make sure you wash your hands before and after touching them.
