There are a few good diets out their that you can choice from, just make sure that you do not go with the hard food that you can find at most local pet stores... sugar gliders are sap suckers (meaning they suck the moisture/nutrients out of their food then spit the rest out).

Check out my personal website for the care and diet of sugar gliders (i feed the bml diet)... and dont forget to view the pictures - you will enjoy every one of them.

Feel free to email me any time you have a question.

Thumbs up

Yes, you feed them the same staple diet food every night.... but can change around the fruit and vegetables they eat nightly for variety. Click on the diet link at the top of my website to see the diet page for more information.

Yes..... just note that if you go with the BML diet that I feed my gliders the protein, calcium and vitamins are mixed in with the batch of main staple food you mix up once a week (the bml food) - if you go with one of the other diets listed in the diet link on the diet page then you might have to sprinkle your calcium and vitamins over the main staple food before feeding each night depending on which diet you go with.

Does that make sense to you?

Okay I Think... you give them calcium and protein once a week in the main staple food?

OR you give them calcium and protein once a week on its own!

sorry

P.S.
We mix up the staple food mixture then freeze it in a ice cube trays this way all you have to do is place a cube (1 cube feeds 2 gliders) in their feeding tray with their fruits and vegetables for their meal each night.... the main staple food will need to defrost before they can eat it.

And - if you have picky gliders that will not eat their fruits/vegetables or that only pick out their favorite ones to eat then you can try the relish/smoothie mix I feed my gliders in place of their fresh fruits and vegetables each night.... see pics on the diet page.

Not once a week - every night..... the 5 part diet plan is a daily thing.

Basic 5 parts of a Sugar Glider Diet:
... based on approved & safe foods.

1 - Staple Food:food supply
2 - Fresh Protein Source
3 - Fresh Fruits & Vegetables
4 - Supplements: Calcium & Vitamins
5 - Daily Fresh WATER

Please feel free to suggest any changes you (or any one else) thinks I should make on my website to help others better understand they care and diet of sugar gliders - I am already going to change the wording for "main food supply" to "daily to food supply" based on our discussion here - Thanks.

YES - YOU got IT!!
.... and in my case the staple food was the BML (with the protein and supplements mixed in)

Basically I feed:
1 cube BML mix
Fruits & Vegetables
Fresh Water

Meal Worms - for extra protein
