Unhappy Help! I got me a fat glider

I bred giders for many years up to about 2 yrs ago. I kept some of my old timers as pets as well as a sweet young female. Over the past 6 months this female, who is fed like everyone else, it a great big CHUNK!

This has never been a problem for me and my gliders before. Can someone advise me on what may be happening to my glider. She has also gotten shy but otherwise seems fine.

Her diet is not high in fat

Thanks

I have an obesce glider and it's due to him not willing to exercise or play. There is an adapted glider diet you can use... if anyone needs it I can send them the link.

Yeah you want to cut out high carb stuff especially and I try to limit the yogurt i give as treats and part of my diet

So far I haven't had much luck but part of that is b/c I have to feed wombaroo to him and his wife b/c she's always pregnant and it makes him even more fat... tho my vet says he's still healthy so far..

i wish you luck as well

I use dry cat food in a small dish for all my gliders and this is getting pulled from chubbys diet. I believe she is just eating too much of it and like you said, "carbs" but also there is a lot of fat in cat food.

My gliders can't eat yogart. They were never given it before and gliders are latose intolerant unless they are use to it. The moms have little to no latose in their milk while nursing their young. This can cause upper respiratory problems for some gliders.
