My exotics vet uses something called Dent-a-Gene. The rest of the hospital uses Chlorhexadine. You might check those out.

If you're having an odor and not a cleaner problem, I use a product called S.O.X. It's a non-toxic deodorizing spray for small animals. I haven't had any problems and spray it on their bedding.

I get it at a local pet store, but I've seen it online. You might check some pet wholesale places. (Run a search on google.com for pet wholesale and go from there.) I don't know exactly how available it would be in Canada. Let me see if I can get a number off the bottle when I get home, though.

I use chlorhexidine myself, you can buy it by the gallon (brand name is Novalsan I believe) and you water it down for use... so it lasts forever. I find it in most of my local feed/ranch supply stores. Its not cheap, but its very useful for cleaning, goes a long way, has no odor like alot of cleaning supplies do (which I can't stand), and it is an antiseptic, so I find myself using it to clean wounds and so forth as well.

i think i've figured out what the smell is. it appears the the vinagar that i've been using to clean the cage makes the smell like 100x worse after i mixes with the urine. it did the same thing with my dog when she would pee on the carpet. i'll try to find those cleaners and see if that makes a difference. thanx everyone
