Thank YOU..... Max has become our next family PET due to him having some problems with his left paw and nails that makes him un-releasable.

oh wow, hes so cute! is he pretty tame? i always thought it would be neat to have a pet squirrel, when we were little we had one in our yard that would take bits of food from your hand, she was so cute Looking forward to lots more pics of Max in the future

Thanks for all the replies and to answer your questions.....

YES, Max has become really tame and he is a delight to have around - he loves every one in family (especially my husband and myself) - and he will chase us through the house if we get to far out of his sight and I love the mornings when he peaks out of his pouch to see us when he hears our voice.

Having a pet squirrel is defiantly one of those "One in a Million Events in Life" that I will never forget.
- and how I can ever look at wild squirrels in the same way now - I CAN"T!

The only draw back in having a pet squirrel is that they often see you as their own personal tree and when they climb that tree they use their nails...... Nails that are Razor Sharp - OUCH!!

Oh what people must think when they see my arms & hand and they do not know I have a pet squirrel?

I was going to ask the same thing. How exciting to get to hand raise a squirrel! He looks like he's pretty happy. Are you (and or other people) able to handle him?

Yes.... we hold him every day - he loves to sit on our shoulders, run circles around our bodies and curl up under our shirts for a little nap in the middle of the day. While Max has a big cage to which he can rump and play in we also let Max out in the house 3 to 4 times a day, for 30 - 60 minutes at a time.
