Question Help with pet permit.

I just found out that you can not have Stripped Skunks as pets in NH but you can have a hooded or Spotted Skunk. I am currently doing research on this animals but I don't know if you need a permit in order to get a hooded or Spotted. All the sites say that hooded or stripped are legal but it doesn't say if a permit is required. Does anyone know if you need a permit for a hooded or spotted skunk in New Hampshire? If so, does anyone know a website that tells me how to get a permit and how much they are? Or a phone number? Thanks in advance!!

New Jersery pretty much requires a permit to own any type of pet, so I would assume so. Your best bet would be to contact the NJ Wildlife, Fish, and Game. They are more than likely in charge of issuing permits.

The original poster said NH - New Hampshire, not NJ.

Either way, like yeongsu said, the best place to start is usually to contact your states devision of fish & wildlife.

I can't find the source, but someone suggested in these types of situations to first contact F&W and request banned/permit species list. Do not immediately tell them what you are trying to do as officials have a tendency to interpret the laws as they see fit. Depending what the regulation says, you can argue yuor case then. I'm just being paranoid about blue NE and various bans. Best of luck!
