I finally got my STO's

I waited and researched for 4 years, and last weekend, I finally got my 2 short tailed opossums. They are so sweet. I got a female who I've named Skittles and a male who I've named Twix. Here are a few pictures. First is Skittles

Cute! I've had a few and will be getting a few white ears/socks and Rosey's soon too! Do you plan on breeding? You didn't get them in Washington did you? Or was it local? They are very cute! I can't wait to get mine! How much did you pay? LOL Sorry for all the questions!

I got them from Connie at Exotic Pets in Manitoba Canada. I do plan on trying my hand at breeding them.

Becki - They grow to about 4-6 inches and live about 6-8 years, although, a friend of mine had one that died shortly before he turned 10.

I sure do miss the ones I had. They are such neat little critters. I can't wait until my babies are old enough to bring home, and what beautiful colors I am getting too!

Here is where I am getting my pair:

I used to have one and know a lady that breeds them.. she says it's kinda hard b/c the male can't stay with the female like with my gliders

They are so very cute... what kinda pouch do you have them sleeping in?

ya, the male can stay with the female for 12 days, she will ovulate somewhere around day s 8-12, then he has to come out. The scary part is that the male can get killed, so I am trying to arrange a habitat with lots of hidey places in it for the male to escape.
