I usually actually recommend larger cages for small breed rabbits.
Yes, they are smaller physically, but smaller breeds like the ones you mentioned are usually actually more active than larger breeds tend to be. The general rule for rabbit cages though, is the bigger the better. Cages sold for rabbits in pet stores are almost always too small.
If you don't have a lot of floor space for a cage, what about looking into cages that have different levels? It will give the rabbits more space, without taking up more floor space. Most rabbits seem to enjoy the different levels. If you can't find a cage with levels that you like or that is the right size, you can look into building one with NIC panels.
