Bunny Plops!

One of our bunnies does the oddest thing...he will take one short hop and just plop on his side fully stretched out and stay there. He doesn't just lay down and relax...he practially throwns himself down. Scared me every time he did it for a while and I'd make him get up and move around to make sure he's ok!

Any others do this too?

Haha, that's totally normal! It's called a flop . It means he's content and relaxed.

My Angora does it all the time and it's hilarious to watch a huge fluff ball flop over like that .

I have never witness the action of the flop but I have found Teddy in the position a few times - I was so scared and I jumped and then I made him jump. I felt bad once I knew he was fine. Now I try and relax but it's still unsettling.
At least it is a sign that your bun is very hoppy.

One of our bunnies plops down on her side with her feet sticking up in the air (like she's in a dead-bunny pose) and then settles down from that after a while. It's really cute seeing her do it since she's obviously really comfortable and relaxed around us. The first time I found her in that position I almost had a heart attack since I thought she was dead. I guess she was asleep since she didn't react until I poked her, and then she jumped straight up and bolted away. Ended up feeling really bad for scaring her like that, but I was worried she'd randomly just died overnight.
