Did he used to live outside before you got him? Black rabbits get a orange tinge to them from the sun.

Wow, thats weird. Mo's coloring changed a bit after he had his big shedding, but he didn't have any bright colors on him so he didn't change that much. Rusty is shedding quite a bit right now and he seems to be getting lighter. I'll let you know if any drastic changes happen!

OMG!!! I was about to post about my "wizard of oz" bunny!

You remember those horses that change colors!? That's my rabbit! When we got her she was a rich dark chocolate brown all over. Now she has a chocolate brown(almost black) nose, around the eyes, paws, tail, and neck and the rest of her is a silvery light brown. What's up!!!??? I totally don't get it.

Not to mention she's HUGE. She weighs 4.3 pounds at 4 months...i don't think she's a mini lop anymore....LOL

My bunnies stayed the same color, although Caesar has lightened up a bit, but that may be because of the sun.

My mini lops weighed that much when they were babies too! I wonder how big Lops are then...

i read online that 6 pounds at full grown is a mini lop. so i guess any bigger is a regular lop? i can't seem to find many sites on the full grown weight of a lop. She's definetely bigger than my past rabbit and he was a mini lop from a breeder so...lol

Smallest Lops are the Hollands, then the Mini Lop and then the English and French Lops (I can't remember which is biggest of the last two.)

My Rusty is supposedly a mini-rex. But now that I have him, he's gaining weight and he must be at least 5 lbs. I thought mini-rex's are supposed to be like 4lbs and under? Maybe I have a regular rex and you have a regular lop.
