Red face Do you have your bunnies vaccinated....?

Over here in the UK, some/most vets recommend having your bunnies vaccinated annually against myxomatosis and viral haemorrhagic disease .. My vet even recommends that they have the myxomatosis one every 6 months, because there has been an outbreak of it locally..
Do you have yours vaccinated? If not why? I dont want to start an argument on here, I would just like to know if you think its necessary, or because your vet does not recommend it..

Here is a useful link, if you would like to know more..

My vet doesn't carry vaccines for rabbits. There are not enough outdoor bunnies to make it necessary. Pretty much anyone around here with a rabbit has a house bunny.
I didn't vote...there is no option that states it's unnecessary for house buns

Really? I didn't even know there were vaccinations for rabbits...not sure about the rest of the US but I do know that no vet in my area offers them.

Great article and info! My rabbits are on Revolution for fleas even though they never go outside and the dogs have just been switched from Frontline to Revolution as well...no fleas in my house I'm also on the opposite side of the country from California...so that's probably why the vets here don't offer that vaccine.

We don't, our vet says it isn't necessary and I don't even think they have vaccines for rabbits here. It's not as big of a deal since all my rabbits are inside bunnies. However, they are all on flea/tick prevenatives, just in case.

my rabbits are inside bunnies and infortunately it's still illegal to vaccinate your rabbits for myxo in aus. However we have the callicivirus vaccination, and while it's unlikely that my two would ever get it as it gets carried by a mosquito biting a wild rabbit that has the virus and then that same mosquito biting my rabbit, I still get them done every single year!!
If we had one for myxo I would definently do it!!! We had a rabbit die of myxo...it was horrible. She was an outside bunny (didn't even have a cage...lack of knowledge back then!). Mosquitos can ALWAYS get into your house and you just never know....if I could vaccinate them I wouldn't be taking the risk. I freak out if there is a mossie in the house and I live in the city so it's unlikely. We do however see quite a few cases of it at work. It's just horrible.

Too lazy to even think of a siggy

There aren't any offered here in Illinois. I didn't fill in the poll because there wasn't really the right option for me.
