Fleas

I have two rabbits and I bought a baby bunny recently. The other day I found a flea on the baby bunny. Is it safe to use the product for cats that you can just drop on their back? Or is there one like it for rabbits? I saw the spray stuff but it would be a pain to spray all three of them down a few times a week until the fleas are gone.

You can use advantage, for kittens, but not frontline! Frontline can be fatal for rabbits and even has the warning on the back of the packet! I have used advantage a few times on my rabbits and they have been fine. I get the one that is up to 4kg (9pound? the one close to that anyway) and use half each on my two just cause of their size and it has worked every time!
You might want to look into a wormer for small animals too while they've got fleas.

Only if it is kitten safe can you use any kind of flea medication. The best is flea powder, if it has Carbaryl in it.
Just be careful, and use it in a well ventilated area and be sure not to inhale or allow your bunny to inhale very much.

As far as things like Advantage or Program, I'm not sure how effective they would be, as I've never used them myself, nor heard of anyone using them before (with the exception of Carmen, just now ).

I have always found advantage to be very very safe..just part their fur and put it on their skin.
I don't like the flea powders on rabbits as if you don't brush it out well enough and they clean themselves and digest it...I wonder what harm could be done which is why I always went the advantage route.

On a side note...not all kitten safe flea products are safe for rabbits. Frontline is kitten safe but not rabbit safe so be sure to check first Ask your vet if you're not 100% sure!
