fly strike prevention

I have been looking for products that prevent fly strike, and I think I have found one. My rabbits live outside, so parasites are a constant concern, although my rabbits have never had fly strike. I discovered a product called "Perma-guard" and it is sold at many different sites on the web. It is non-toxic, and safe to use, and is also called "food grade fossil shell flour", or "diatomaceous earth". Mix it in with rabbit pellets and it kills internal parasites. Because it also is excreted in feces, it prevents fly eggs from hatching. I found this product is used on a variety of livestock including sheep and chickens.

I am finding this product to be helpful, but not 100% effective. Animals still need to be closely watched.
