Red face Harvey update! And I am so mad!!!

Some of you may remember that my hubby rescued a baby bunny a few months ago! The thread is below..
http://www.paw-talk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25249

Well Pete went back to the house yesterday, and Harveys mum and dad were in the same cage.. Again no food and water, and no sign of babies ! Well the lady asked Pete if he would like to buy the rabbits off her.. Pete asked if the female bunny was pregnant or not, she did not know.. Well he left them there as he is going back in a few weeks, and asked her to make sure that they would be fed and given water every day.. I have told him to bring them back next time, and I will take them to a local bunny rescue, or keep them myself..
Why do people get pets if they cannot look after them properly? By all means have 2 bunnies, but if one is male and the other is female why not get one spayed/neutered? There are so many unwanted pets in the world it just annoys me so much!! Every day hundreds if not thousands of animals are euthanised because of selfish pet owners!

Wow...that is so sad and sick at the same time! I hope you do take them next time so they can know what it's like to be loved and spoiled.

Aw, that's sad . My rescue bunny, Sakura, had two sons (she gave birth at 4 months...poor baby ) and the people still have them. I always worry about them...

Unfortunately the police probably wont do anything.. I could get the RSPCA involved, but Pete is worried about his job, so I will just get the bunnies out of there next chance.. Thanks guys!

aaaaawwwww thats so sad Steph Hope you can get them out next time! If you get her and she turns out to be pregnant you could try to rehome them yourself as i fear because of the time of year if they go to a rehoming centre they might be destroyed I totally agree with what you have said if you are going to get two rabbits get the same sex or get one or both of them neutered as it saves lives in more ways than one

Thanks Kirsty, the rabbit rescue near me does not destroy any bunnies, so I know they will be ok there.. If she is not pregnant I may keep them, but 6 may be a bit of a handful!
