How many non bunny owners know...

that lettuce stains carpets. I really wonder how many people realize that lettuce will stain a carpet. So do carrots and watermelon. I just cleaned carrot and lettuce stains off Teddy's carpet. Now he dripped tonights watermelon on it. I am sure there will also be lettuce stains by morning.

Lettuce isn't good for bunnies.

Flash has carrot stains all over his blanket.

Iceberg maybe...but romaine is,as well as green leaf.
I don't have a bunny, but know tons of people who feed this to their buns.

I feed romaine/green leaf to my guinea pig.But iceberg has no nutritional value.

ice burg is bad for humans too hard on the digestive system. I knew carrots and watermelon stain only because of having my daughter who loves carrots watermelon and any other fruit and veggie she can get her hands on.

I should have been more specific - Romaine lettuce, red leaf lettuce and green leaf lettuce - they leave stains. I think the Romaine is the biggest culprit. I only give them the darker leaves - of course that means more pigments.
Iceberg lettuce is not good for anyone. There is little nutrional value - and has too much moisture for buns.
I just have a problem in Teddy's and Penelope's room. They have the light beige carpet in their rooms. Luckily it's the builders grade and needs to be replaced soon anyway. Ollie and Ophelia have a laminate floor with dark red throw rugs - so their rugs appear fine.

I think it's funnier that those things will stain bunny fur too! It's so cute when they have the little fruit/veggie stains on their lips. :p

Molly always has green stains around her mouth on her white fur after she is done eating. We have a cream color carpet that I feed them on and haven't noticed any stains.

Maybe Teddy is just a little dirt ball. He also has a nice green salad mustache pretty much every night.

Flash just has green feet. I'm not sure how that happens. I think it's because his fur on his face is too dark to notice stains, but the bottoms of his feet are white, and I've noticed that they're usually stained green on the bottom. Given his tendency to sit with his front feet in his hay bin when he eats, I guess he could be doing the same thing sometimes with his veggies, sitting with his feet on the ones he doesn't want to eat immediately while he digs in the bowl for his favorites. I've never actually seen him do that, though I'm usually busy making my own dinner while he's eating his.

Sometimes I wonder if my buns have a greenish tinge to their feet from the hay.
I love when I give them watermelon or strawberries and they get red lips. It cracks me up!

Yeah - the bottom of Barnaby's feet are usually green too and I think it's because of the hay. I mean, he doesn't stand on his greens or anything so I'm pretty sure it has to be from the hay.

He has white fur around his lips and nose, and those areas do get stained from foods. I think it's cute
