hutch floor

hi can someone advise me as to what is used to coat the base
of hutches ?
mine came with some sort of black coating on them i assume
it to be some sort of non - toxic animal friendly paint as used in childrens cots ect or am i thinking wrong

any help greatly appreciated new to keeping bunnies

hi on the floor
i have 2 hutches that are coated in black paint or similar on the wooden floor to make it easier to keep clean
i have a third one that is not coated

Paint isn't good for them at all, so I suggest you lay down a towel with wood shavings over it. Better yet, buy a large plastic cage from a pet store.
