Question Just a Cold?

So earlier today i bought a six week old mini lop holland lop mix. and im really scared. he was perfectly fine when i chose him. all of a sudden, he's sneezing, grunting -almost like a wheezing sound- and his fur is oily. i've read online and in a few of my books that this could be a respiratory infection. or, if it goes away in a couple days, it could be a simple cold. any advice? i couldn't find a reason for the oily fur, has this happened to anyone else?

He needs to see a vet. There's no such thing as "just a cold" for a bunny. Rabbits don't pick up viruses like that -- he's going to need some antibiotics. His fur is probably oily because he's sick and feels terrible and has stopped grooming.

Years ago my first bunny got sick, and I thought he had just a cold that would just go away by itself. At that time I didn't know bunnies didn't get colds. It turned out to be Snuffles and it was too late to save him. Please get your bun to the vet ASAP.

yes, I agree with the other poster's he needs to get some antibiotics. Bunnies don't get colds. They are never "just under the weather" when they exhibit signs of being sick they really are sick

....He looked fine when you chose him the SAME DAY you noticed later the problem??? That seems like something that should have been detected right away. In any case, see a vet. Bunnies have peculirly complex systems and this can tumble downhill SO fast, Good luck
