Linus's first vet appointment.
Health-wise, it went great. Otherwise, not so much. He seemed pretty skittish there. Then again -- completely new, scary place with completely new, scary people doing completely new, scary things. I can't really blame him.
He's the picture of perfect health. Everything checked out just fine. She says the smelly droppings he's had is most likely from the diet change, but that I'm doing everything right, and she sees no cause for concern.
She also said he's definitely ready to be neutered, so I'll be scheduling that soon.
Heart attack moment -- as she was checking his teeth out, he got startled, and legitimately launched himself up and out of the assistant's hands, back down onto the table, and if it wasn't for me grabbing onto him and holding him tight against my body, he was going to throw himself right off the table.
We were all pretty startled, and the vet even put him down on the floor to let him run around a bit just to be sure he didn't injure himself. It was pretty dramatic, and I'm pretty sure it shaved years off my life.
Once he was returned to his carrier, he made sure we all knew how mad he was, because he kept thumping. And he even thumped his foot and shook his head at me after I got him home and let him into his cage. I'm thinking it'll be a couple of days before he gets over this one.
