Ok, help me!

I went to petfinder.org and found a few bunnies in need of adoption. This one, however, is for 2 males that are being housed together... I'd hate to rescue them and have to seperate them, I thought males couldn't be kept together?

If they are sold together, then they are bonded and SHOULDNT be seperated. If bonded bunnies are seperated, they can die. If you only want one bunny you should go for one that can be sold alone.

It's not a matter of one or two if I'm going to rescue, ya know? I was just curious as to why these two broke the "two males will fight" rule. LOL

I'm still researching and talking to breeders - I'm also going to go visit the shelters tomorrow.

They're sooo cute! It would be awesome if you were to adopt those two. I've never heard of the no two male bunny rules. And if they're neutered, then they won't fight at all if they've been living together all their life. I say go for it!

They do say to avoid keeping 2 males together, but if they have been together for a while and possibly both neutered I don't think there will be too much of a problem..

Where did you hear that?

Christi if the male bunnies have been raised or have lived together for a long time, they can bond and get along. I've seen many male pairs on the Bunny Bunch rescue's site. They usually came into the shelter together or were found together, so they are bonded and the rescue requires them to be adopted out together. I'm sure the rescue will have more info for you on the two boys. I can't wait to hear if you adopt them!

Sorry to double post, I just saw that you had a link. They are so sweet looking! They have probably lived together their whole lives, so they are friends.

Thanks Steph!

I'm going tomorrow to look at a young male : "I'm a tri-colored bunny that looks to be a dwarf. I'm using a litter pan now and am quite friendly."

He was fostered by a vet tech and her children so he's very social.

I'm also going to go see these:

Thumper-S (our TV star bunny!) is an adorable 5 year old neutered male with lots of energy and lots of love to give!

Lilí Guy - this sweet little fellow was found wandering in a parking lot and is looking for a permanent home.

And of course any others they have.

I'd say go for it! I'll be getting Dutchie neutered pretty soon and once his raging hormones have calmed down, I'm going to try to intro him to Lucky (who is already neutered) They met once before in the living room...Dutchie humped the daylights out of Lucky and Lucky just let him! I love my little gay bun-buns But since Lucky didn't really try to get away and he certainly didn't try to fight back, I like to take it as a good sign that once Dutchie is neutered and all the hormones are out of his system, they'll get along fine. I've heard it can be difficult to get 2 male rabbits together, but not impossible. I think it depends on the rabbits

The dwarf is adorable!! So is the other one, but the dwarf is really cute! Just remember, they can by HYPER! Lucky is hyper when he's in his cage, but not too hyper out of it...he likes playing fetch a lot (Lucky is my Netherland Dwarf)

Get Thumper....he is gorgeous. I love that color. He is a Magpie Harlequin and looks like some sort of lop/dwarf cross.
