Perry is finally here

He is finally here!

I went to go pick him up today after a long shop for rabbit supplies. perry looked nervous on the drive home, but after I put him in his new home and after he watched me set up his new home he looked settled!

He's been exploring his cage and looks happy! I was also nervous that he would be too stressed to eat but as soon as I bought some hay out he jumped right at it and started munching . I am just watching him right now to see if he will learn to use his bottle sipper..fingers crossed that he'll learn soon, don't want him to be dehydrated!! Here are some new pics of him in his cage!!

He is cute and I am glad he is settling so well.
I am sure he will learn how to use the bottle.

Place a small dish of water underneath the dripper and let it evaporate over a few days as he comes back to get more water and there's less and less he'll begin looking for more and discover the dripper. Good luck!! He's a cutie!

Oh thanks for the tip! I did give him a bowl of water but I have been refilling it day after day, so maybe then I should just let the water level get lower and lower. Thanks for the tip!

He seems to be quite the digger so I'm searching for a big wooden log for him to dig at, but sadly it's hard to find such things here in my city!! Alas, I will keep searching. Any tips at this point will be awesome and will be greatly appreciated! Cheers

He's gorgeous!

During his run-time, you could place a box of your choice of bedding for him to dig in.

Yes, be careful what you find in a city as it could contain harmful toxins left over from cars and such. I work where we get in ALOT of cardborad boxes which end up being food for the dumpster so I get first pick. Most grocery/drug stores will save you a box if you go in near their stock days Peel off all tape and bunneh has a super FUN toy!

Thanks for the latest tips!

Ok current update. He has not learnt how to use his sipper bottle yet..I think he still likes his bowl, but I am reducing the water levels and he had a wee sniff at the sipper so I think he is slowly catching on, fingers crossed he'll learn how to use it.

Also a note on litterbox training, he poops in his litterbox in his corner that he chose, but he doesn't pee in the litterbox. I always leave some pee stained newspapers in his litter box to let him associate the box with his loo business, ya know scenting it out etc, but it is only the 4th day so keeping up my patience and consistency is key I think . I've done everything, I make his litterbox welcoming with hay etc to encourage him to use it etc. Am I missing anything??

Some bunnies just do prefer bowls. There's really nothing wrong with a rabbit drinking out of a bowl - so long as they're not throwing stuff into it, and so long as it's a heavy ceramic bowl that they can't tip over. It just needs to be cleaned every day. My rabbit prefers water bottles - but some don't.

Try soaking pee up with paper towels instead, and tossing them in the box, that's what I did.

I don't think you're missing anything, no.

Updating news: Perry is using his sipper bottle! I was playing with him outside his cage one afternoon and he then started exploring the outside of the bottle, I think he then figured out that there was water in it because he then went to the other side with the nozzle and started drinking!

He is such a clever boy, mummy is so proud .

Perry is darling!!!!

Ahhh glad he found his water bottle. He will learn to use his little box correctly - it just takes time.

Post more pictures when you get a chance

The Pics are here!

Apologies for the late photos, the wee cute rascal is kinda fast for the camera. I had to find the right moment to take pics of him when he hasn't been so skittish.

The odd photos is blurry but you can see the wee cutie exploring .
