question about rabbit being fixed?

Hello-
I own two buns, a mini-rex named lady whom is 11 months old and a male bun named brownie whom is a mini-lop and is 5 months old.
I just got brownie fixed last tuesday 1 week ago, and I was wondering how soon i can introduce the two again,, without worries about getting our female bun pregnant (shes not fixed yet).?
My vet wants me to wait a few weeks? Is this true?
Please help!! I want them to be together,, they sniff and lick eachother supervisers and me right there in front of them (so nothing happens!)
But I have a feeling they will be great friends and i want them to play!!
thanks again!!

My vet recommends rabbits be separated for 6 weeks to prevent pregnancy. Yes, male rabbits can still reproduce for up to 6 weeks after neutering. If you put them together again before that time, you may end up with a litter on your hands. Same thing holds true for chinchillas.

I would leave them separated for at least 6- 8 weeks.. I am due to get one of my males done in the next few weeks and the other a few weeks later.. Both my females have been spayed so no babies.. Its not that I dont like baby bunnies, its just I would not be able to get rid of them..

She could just be a very vocal doe? I'm not sure. Are there other things that she does while she squeaks at all?
