Running into things

Flash likes to run around really fast, thus his name.

Sometimes, he runs in front of my feet while I'm walking, and I'll accidentally kick him. I've never kicked him hard that way, and he always keeps going as if nothing happened, so no harm done.

But in the last two days, since he's recovered from his neuter and I've started letting him out of his cage, he's been running into things a little more directly. One time, he was running full speed and rammed head first into my leg while I was standing still. Another time, he was going full speed and misjudged a corner of a wall and banged into the corner while trying to go around it.

The little guy is starting to remind me of watching the Three Stooges, or a Road Runner cartoon.

I'm hoping he's just over-excited about being out of the cage after having been confined all week, so he'll calm down to normal levels in another day or two. But I'm starting to worry that he might actually hurt himself if he keeps doing this.

Does anybunny else do this or is Flash just a really odd rabbit?

Zeus does stuff like that a lot too. Especially since we have hard wood floors, he'll run around then slide into things. I kick him lightly often too because he loves to run around in front of me while I'm trying to walk across the room. He also misjudges jumps and such sometimes.

Also I think that rabbits can see better to their sides then right in front of them because of where their eyes are located. Probably you've noticed before that when they want to look at something they'll turn their heads to the side. That could be a reason why he ran directly into you.

Lucky has a bad habit of getting in our way when we are walking too...but Molly is always running at full speed and slamming herself into corners. We were thinking of setting up empty water bottles to see if she would knock them down. BUNNY BOWLING!!
