My Niomi is a 2 1/2 outdoor female spayed Satin rabbit. The tip of her tail has been sore for over a month. Sometimes I notice blood on her tail. It gets scabbed over and starts to heal, then it gets irritated and bloody again. I never notice her biting her tail, but she must be. She lives with her sister, but Niomi is the dominant rabbit, so I doubt that her sister is picking on her tail. I wash it off with iodine, but maybe that is drying out her skin. I wanted to use an antibiotic ointment, but the vet said that licking that off her tail could kill the good bacteria in her gut. The vet didn't know what it could be from either, she just said to watch it so that it doesn't get infected. Other than that, Niomi is in good health and parasite free. Any suggestions on what I could use on her tail?
