An update on Pepper

Hi guys just an update on Pepper.

I've had her for two weeks now, She has settled in lovely also a well behaved bunny she takes notice when she is naughty. plus Pepper is following me where ever I go.

Dose this means that she has bonded with me. The reason why I've ask this question it's because I don't know much about rabbits and their behaviour.

So I'm asking the other rabbits owners as you will know more about it.

Ahhhh glad she has settled in - she is beautiful. I would say she has bonded with you - my bun follows me too and runs in a circle around my feet.

I'm pleased about that.

I have one little promblem at the monemt. She has plenty of toys to play with and plenty of room to flee and scatter where ever she want with supervision but she will scrabble and nibble at the carpet.

The colour of the carpet is very light brown. Dose she think it's old grass or hay.

How can you teach a rabbit not to do this?

That's "Digging", I believe. It's actually an aggressive behavior for rabbits that aren't spayed or neutered. Usually fixing them will fix that issue.

Rabbits in general tend to dig, even when they're fixed. It's a natural behavior -- in the wild they'd dig a burrow. It's much like a cat sharpening their claws. Some rabbits really enjoy digging, and we've built dig-boxes for them before. Some just dig a little, here and there.

We are as gods to the beasts of the fields. We order the time o' their birth and the time o' their death. Between times, we ha' a duty. - Terry Pratchett.

"Men have forgotten this truth", said the fox, "But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
