Two more other points - I miss having a "New Posts" link on the main home page. That is the first place I go, and now I have to click on "Forums" (which takes a looong time to load), and then go to the new posts.
Also, I'm not a big fan of the suggested "Similar Threads" at the bottom of each page (when looking at a thread).

I like the squished look! I dunno why,but I do.

I do have a complaint tho.It takes a long time to load the pages (I have hi-speed and never had this problem) and sometimes a thread won't load and I have to refresh the page, just so it shows up!

The "View First Unread Post" button at the top of each thread when clicked takes you out to the Home Page.

same here Lisa. And I didn't want to say anything rude but I don't like the side bar...it leaves a blank space on the left when you scroll down.

I noticed the side bar does not come up when reading certain threads. I've also noticed those threads have a different font.

UGH. I hate change, and I loved the old forums. And yes - why waste all that space and squish everything up ?

ruined my whole day ..... but I'm sure I'm the only one that hates this

I notice that still, since early this morning, that there are some members avatars and some smilies that are still not showing up. They are coming up as red x's in a little white box.

I also do not like the empty space on the left under the sidebar. I guess we have to get used to change...again. Like when we had the last upgrades and had to get used to having the ads up at the top of each page. I hated it but now it doesnt bug me, have gotten used to it and just ignore it.

One thing that they mentioned that they will have soon is an Image Gallery. That should be nice to be able to see pics of all our pets in one area.

It's freezing up alot for me tonight and taking a long time to load threads! It is not very enjoyable, when I have to keep refreshing the page or waiting like 5 minutes for the page to load!!!

I hate website changes! I'm usually the last one to discover it and the last to understand it. It does freeze up a few times and I couldn't get it to load earlier. Also like Lisa said it takes a min to download.

the font being so small is really hard on the eyes. It makes the eyes tired & people aren't going to want to continue reading it. Also the bright purpley color on the side bar is a bit too bright - also hard on the eyes.

I don't have much room to say anything since I haven't really been active - but from a graphic designer point of view - with the graphics (the logo & post images) being reducded in size the way they are the images are no longer clean & are really not that appealing to look at. Things are much too compressed. IMHO - I know change is good ... but I am less likely to return to PT when it is more of a distraction to try to read & navigate the forums.

Wow, Kay said it all perfectly!

This morning it drove me bonkers with just waiting for this page to come up. Took too long.

Why did things have to change anyway? These upgrades seem to have made things ...not any better.

Wow... lots of feedback... great
I'll try to address all of the comments- let me know if I forgot thing...

First- the crunchy and compressed new look of the forums.
This happens mostly due to the left sidebar we introduced. The font and font-size haven't actually changed- but the spacing among the letters got smaller (ie, squished), hence the crunchy feeling. We'll fix this shortly (today / tomorrow), get the spacing back to how it was.
Regarding the left sidebar there's a reason for it, too we've put it there for navigation purposes, as well as a placeholder for future banner ads, when we into it. It won't happen in the next weeks, most likely afterwards.

Speed and performance (takes too much time to load, freezing, etc)- Now that's an important one we'll start monitoring more closely. The server that runs paw-talk had a few load issues- we've cleared most of these issues- lets see how the sites performs in the next few days.

Luvnature, you mentioned cp access problem- fixed it.
Regarding the old popular discussions on the homepage- we'll get it so it'll show up popular discussionf from last XXX months.

Nikko- pawtalk logo will shortly be on a higher quality. maybe it's time to run a logo contest, as you all said...

Formula- we'll get a "new post" link from the homepage, rather than click to the forums and then on "new posts". good point.

Dena- good catch with the "view first unread posts"- will be fixed shortly. Dena you also mentioned the sidebar didn't come up on certain threads- can you send papabeten or me these threads if you encounter them again?

Luvnature- regarding the missing avatars / smilies and the little red X instead of them, can you pm me / papabeten such a URL when you see it? many thanks

Tarita- the "posting takes to first page" will be fixed, thanks

Hmm. Did I miss anything?
