Birdie Christmas Presents?

Are ya'll getting your birds any Christmas presents? Do they have a stocking?

Since Toby is a big bird with a big beak we have come with all kinds of homemade stuff for him to play with besides the regular ol bird toys. I did make him 2 new toys for his cage but we have a bunch of silly stuff for him too. I also have some store bought treats.

We wrapped a phone book up in several layers of wrapping paper. He'll love it! My mom is sending him a bunch of empty (and cleaned) film cannisters with a nut or two in each... wrapped in several layers of paper. He will enjoy unwrapping it more than the nut and he loves nuts!

We're lucky because Toby doesn't *eat* any of his toys... he just destroys/chews them. He's a huge chewer, must be the Greenwing in him. And you wouldn't believe how quickly he can chew through his toys.

What are ya'll getting for your birds for Christmas?

My birdies were gonna get a new perch, a new toy, and a new play gym. I caved an already gave them the toy and perch. They are still getting their new playgym for Xmas, it even has a huge ribbon around it!

That's great Natalie!!

I caved and gave Manto (German Shep) one of his presents today. I thought I had another bag of his bones (knunkles.... ewwwww) but I don't so I took a bone out of his stocking!

I have not made a stocking for all my birds -- but they have given presents to all the other animals in my extended family. I expect that they will receive some as well. I've had to buy over 40 gifts this year so the added stress of birdy gifts just wasn't worth more grey hair!!
