Question difference bettwween a parrakeet and a cockatiel

lol I know that there is a obvious differnce, but I don't know how to explain the differnce. I took Eli to school today, and got pics, will get them on puter by Monday.....busy wk. Oh and el i is saying hi right now, he is looking at the screen going mommy I can tellyou the difference. lol. boy sometimes' he's harder then a kid....well I take it back he don't hit me and kick me in my bad shoulder.

oops lol..........got distracted. one of the people from my class asked me to tell him the difference bettween Cockatiels and PArrakeets. and I couldn't ummmmmmmm tell him, because I don't know how to put stuff into words.I'm better with visuals. And I just have a cockatiel. so how would I explain the diffence?

A parakeet is any small, thin parrot usually with a long tail. I don't know if a cockatiel is small enough to be classed as a parakeet but I doubt it.

The most well known of the parakeet family is probably the Australian Budgerigar.

The difference between a cockatiel and a budgie probably comes down to size, beak type and intelligence. Cockatiels are quite intelligent animals. Budgies are..um..not

It's like saying "What's the difference between a poodle and a pug" They're just 2 different types of birds. There are a lot of difference between the two.
