Does your bird know his/her name?
Does he/she respond when you say their name?

Floyd doesn't know his name. I have no clue what he was called before we got him. But he does know pretty bird. Maybe that was his name!

Yup, Toby knows his name. Maybe because I used to say it a zillion times to him!

I've got all kinds of other pet names for him now but he will look or stop what he's doing if I say Toby. Depends on what tone I use.

My macaw introduces himself to new people by going "HI! My name is Twinkie bird!" really loudly. Of course, he does it randomly too. My senegal hasn't figured out his name. My patagonian conure knows his name and will come running (he doesn't like to fly) if you call him.

Let's see--:ula yes, Jeze sort of, depends on her mood, Sid, can't tell.

Lula will answer with an attempt to say Lula,

Jeze mostly will at least look at me, she's not very vocal at all.

Sid, hard to tell if he knows his name, he's always looking at you for attention.

No Rocket & Sky don't respond to their names. Maybe they are just doing it on purpose to ignore me when I call them.

oh goodness !! I am totally cracking up at that Rav - the image in my head when I read it was Tracy Morgan on Saturday Night Live in his Brian Fellow Safari Planet character yelling,

HI! I'm Brian Fellow!

I know- I am such a dork.

Dante knows his name and will respond with "Hello!" or "Hi!" or "Come on!" He won't say his own name though.

Dweezil will whistle at me if I say "Hi Dweeeez!" in my goofy birdy talk voice.

They will both call back to me if I call out their names from another room

Good visual Deja!!!

You know, now that you mention it, I've never heard Toby say his name. He says tons of other stuff but never his name. And as much as I've said his name, you would think he would be saying it. Hmmm, weird.

Eephus seems to respond to his name, and I think he may be trying to say it ... I'm trying to teach him "Eephus is a good bird!", he'll lean in real close every time I say it, and when I get to the end he says "bird" with me.
