egg problem

The first egg hatched no problem, I noticed last night it looked like number 2 was on their way, with a little peep hole in the side of the egg. Well as of now he is not out yet. When I had cocitiels a couple of times I had to help babies out of the eggs. I am just afraid to touch these Canary eggs are so much smaller, and its her first clutch so I dont want her to reject them. But the one baby fell out of the nest yesterday adn I picked him up and put him back in it and Lady was fine with it and is sitting and feeding him. Should I give the second one more time, or should I try to look at the egg?

I'm pretty sure that if they stay in the egg too long after opening it up, they can get dried out, stick to the egg, and die. You should probably contact your avian vet and see what s/he recommends. I have no idea what kind of time frame is too long for a canary egg to sit opened and unhatched, but at this point it's an important thing to find out.
