Hyacinth, oooh I love them! I also like Eclectus too!
I just want to make it clear, as it may sound strange that we had 200 birds. But we were not mass beeders, and almost always kept each baby. We hardly sold babies, because they were all considered our pets.

Our oldest tiel Pancha was about 30 when she died. She was a rescue and just fantastic! She had been flying around our neighborhood when our neighbor caught her. She was blind in one eye, and we suspect she flew into something like a brach and poked it. The eye was still there, just not usable. Our neighbor had her for about ten years, and she was already an older birdy then, and then she came to us and we kept her til she died. We had her about 10 more years after that.
Even though she never bred she would lay eggs under the couch. That was her "nest" LOL. She would guard it with her life. She would come out with his wings out hissing, and it was the cutest thing. She was the sweetest bird and before I knew this was wrong, she would clean our teeth for us and take food from our mouths.

She was just an overall sweet bird. She of course, was my favorite.
We had other rescue tiels as well. One Latino we got we found in an avocado tree, just sitting there. So we took her home. :p
