Thumbs up Hot peppers !

What kind of peppers do your fids enjoy? What is the hottest pepper you have given them?

And....have you ever made the mistake of kissing them after they have eaten one??

My senegal (moms really) used to LOVE those long red ones! Of course he thought they were soooo good he wanted to share he would try to push the seeds in between your lips with his nasty little tounge!! I am such a wuss that I can't even eat medium salsa, my lips used to swell up huge when he'd get me Nutty bird...

Becki I can picture that, and the look on your face when he'd try to feed you those pepper seeds and give you swollen lips.....
I'm picturing Jodi with a swollen pepper lip from Toby too-

Daphne *loved* hot peppers! Dante will pick at most any pepper I give him - but not with the gusto Daphne had.

I learned the painful lesson of peppers all on my own -way before I had birds. I handled a knife that was used to slice habaneros and without a thought rubbed my eye. OMG It was soooo painful- I was flushing my eye for half an hour and it was red and flowing tears for the entire night.

I don't go near my birds if they've been eating hot peppers

My freakazoid doesn't seem to like peppers. Doesn't stop me from giving them to him though, and I too learned the hard way. Never, ever stick a finger in your eye to fix a contact after you've cut fresh peppers. And if you run them down the disposal, don't use hot water and stand too close.

Ouch Sharon!

Swollen lip? You bet!

Toby will eat almost any pepper but the hotter they are the more he likes them...

I was just thinking about the silly things my bird would eat and I remembered that he used to LOVE altoids! LOL He would hold it in one foot and nibble for a bit, then shake his head really fast with his tounge out and huff...then nibble some more....
Gave him nice minty breath though!

Oh, I wish my dog Wallis would eat Altoids!! It would be such an improvement!

I'm a mean mom. I take the peppers out of the food and throw them away because I can't stand hot foods and have been kissed thoroughly by a bird after he's eaten one of those nasty things! I gave everyone some black beans and rice earlier and they think that's the best thing that's happened to them in a long time.

Altoids, birds and dogs! I tried to give my dog a tic tac one time and she wouldn't have anything to do with it!

My 'tiel loves green peppers, I have not tried any other kinds.

Been meaning to ask this:

Is "fids" meaning feathered kids?? Just curious.
