Congratulations! I have a cockatiel as well and they are soo sweet and friendly sometimes they forget what species they really are. I love the first pic of your daughter, Oh how I miss seeing those cute expressions with there cubby cheeks...mine is now six. You did a really great job getting that second pic of the wings spread out, mine doesn't fly she just "falls", hasn't quite gotten the concept yet that her wings were cut too short.

Oh I'm having a GREAT time with her! Shes already figuring out how to open the doors on her cage. Looks like I am going to have to get some clips. I cant have her getting out of the cage while I'm gone or even just in another room. My dog will get her. (This being a dog that snatches birds out of the air and tries to swollow them whole!) But dont worry! I have the whole situation worked out. If that same dog can learn to be friends with cats, she can learn to at least accept that the bird is here to stay and she cant hurt her. Shes a smart dog.

Heres another flapping pic and another of my daughter 'chatting' with her She absolutely ADORES her Ducky!

Thank you everyone! I have weaned Ducky. Shes getting along just great. She loves my daughter. I put her on the floor when the dog is outside and Ducky will just run along following my daughter all over the place! Its the cutest thing to watch! She loves shoulder time and is really liking being here. I can tell! Shes changed so much since we brought her home!
