Mustard and Cheeto

Cheeto is a Green Opaline hen,
a year old.
Mustard is a Green Opaline Cock,4years old.

Have been paired about 6 weeks now,I had seen them mate, and couldn't get a pic,as they seperated too soon.

They have been bonded and seen him try to mate with her before, but she wouldn't stay on the perch, she would fall over. This is her first time,so figured she'd just need a little practice.

Cheeto is a daughter of my friend. This pic is Cheeto's parents.

Introducing my next pair Mustard and Cheeto!

Mustard was actually from someone who had 6 keets and their kids had no interest in them anymore. They placed an ad for free, and my friend and I were lucky enough to get them! We each took 3.

I don't know the parents from him,but I don't think it'll be a surprise as to the color of the chicks!!

I hope that doesn't disuade others from following this journal.

She laid her first egg yesterday 6-17

I have moved the pair yesterday too, from their cage to the cage Sammi and Dusty just moved out of.There is more room in it for them. She doesn't go in as much since the move, but he has actually been going in..even nesting, removing some shavings.

I hope they take to the new surroundings.I know moving them and the egg is not a good idea, but couldn't keep them where they were. I seen her lil butt get bigger, and wish she wouldve waited just ONE day!
Wish them luck!!

2nd egg 6-19
She did take to the new box just fine...but because daddy was in there nesting and such...I found both eggs eaten!!

I should of figured he'd do that with all the egg rolling with the plastic egg. He didn't seem to care after the first one was laid.

I'm soooo mad at him!!! I put him in the flight!!!

Just hope she will do a good job by herself...or maybe foster her eggs..I don't know yet.
