Toby's new food

One of my friends was kind enough to send me some food to try for Toby. She tried it on her birds and they wouldn't touch it. I gave it a shot the other night and Toby loved it!! :hyper:

They're all different but basically it's bean, pasta and veggie mixes. They're all freeze dried. One of 'em I soaked overnight and then boiled the next day for 15 mins. The other, I just have to boil for 15-20 mins. I've been adding my own fresh veggies to jazz it up a little and also adding some Mrs.Dash, since Tob loves that flavoring so much. I'm so happy that he likes it! Of course I will continue to feed him his fresh foods and seed/pellet mix.. it's just one more good thing to add to his diet.

Do any of ya'll feed this?

Some of the bags are huge and will last for a very long time!! (the big one is a 5lb bag... I only need 3 scoops of it and I have food for him for a week)

Here's what one batch looked like cooked.

And Toby bowl diving...

Yo mom, can I eat in peace please??

Chrisanne - just keep trying different things. You'll hit on some different things your bird likes one day and he'll drive you crazy wanting it! Mom and Dad's 'tiel insists that at 6 p.m. she has to have her pasta, rice and veggies. The time change didn't even bother her!

I've seen that food, Jodi, but haven't tried it with my group yet. The senegal thinks that a little piece of bread is a wonderful treat, the Eclectus loves dog biscuits, the Gray loves peanuts and spits almonds back in your face.

It's a battle - and the more birds you have the harder it is!!

BTW, you should hear Capn now. I thought he would never talk. Now I don't think he'll ever shut up!!

Yum! What's the name of it? Could you find out the name of it?
