Gerboas

Are gerboas legal to own?? I have done research about them but I havent ever seen one around here and Im not sure if they are legal....probly not.

i googled it real quick and got this brief discription :

"Gerboas, which look like rats with kangaroo legs and big ears, were a popular exotic pet a few years ago, until people realized that when the animals were startled, they'd jump, hit their heads on the top of the cage and break their necks"

That's sad . Maybe a really tall enclosure or one without a top would work?

An online friend of mine has a gerboa that they took in as a rescue . It was apparently a struggle getting her to eat at first and she is difficult to handle sometimes...but she's getting better every day . She's extremely adorable.

I just looked up gerboas, and google said it was spelled "jerboa"

but they are cute. I will find the cute pic i saw
