I think it was just the visual thing with rodent.
Also, here in Hawaii mice and rats are caught...they are considered pests.
But right before I got your email I was in the garden and had a stare down with a mouse. He looked so cute and innocent.

I voted hamsters as they are the only type of pet I have ever had. I love them dearly. I have considered all the others as pets at some points, but somehow I always stick to hamsters.
I have to say, looking at all the pictures of Vanilla_Rat's babies, I am tempted to drive up there and capture a couple of them. Ryan would definitely not appreciate that though. I will have to be satisfied with squeeing at them every time I see pictures.

I prefer Gerbils 100% more than the other rodents, their so much more friendlier and that their far more active both during the day and the night

As for being active,both my rats and gerbil are active during the day and night.The rats are always begging to come out.My mice on the other hand,rarely awake in the day...

I wish I could have a rat but my fiance won't let me get one
( But I have enough animals as it is. I have had gerbils and they are okay but with me they were hard to tame

I have rats, gerbils, hamsters, and guinea pigs- have had mice in the past- I love the rats and will always keep at least one pair- and I love love love my piggy boys- and the gerbils are just too neat and fun and I love how they sleep and play together- but hamsters have my absolute loyalty. I understand hamsters more, their medical issues are well known to me by now, I know how to tame and handle a hamster so no one ever bites (like so many people complained) and I love their coats and colors and their little hands and eyes and ears- so yep- hamsters (Syrians esp) for me all the way.
