Without ever owning a rat or mouse or gerbil or hamster (well there was one hammie we borrowed from school for the summer, but that was the school's hammie), I would say that I like rats the most, but mice are a close second, and probably what I'll be allowed to get, factoring in the money and space we have.

I'll vote mice, but I love rats too.

Hm, it's really a tie between rats and mice for me... rats are really sweet and fun to handle and play with, but mice are so much fun to watch! Especially when they're all bustling about at the same time, on the wheel together... and when they're sleeping in their little igloo together - so cute!

RATS. then the rest.
Ok if Rabbits and even ferrets are not Rodents then why is it at the Rodents fest that my friends have attended and pictures I've seen on the Rodent fest club and events list Rabbit and ferrets to come and are welcome if they are not some sorta rodent?

I think you are in the wrong place buddy.
You are the weirdest cat I ever seen.
Now matter how big or small wierd or normal we or animals may be we can learn to love and get along and love is what makes it all worth wild. Becuase Beautie is in the eye of the beholder an no one is ugly or more prettyer then anything eals we are all equal. There are some ugly people and things but that is becuase man kind makes them this way do to thier actions.

Rabbits are "lagomorphs" (dunno if that is spelled right).Ferrets are "mustelids" (sp?).Neither of them are rodents.

I love love love having ratties, as they are SO loving and full of personality, but I also have a very special place in my heart for gerbils. We had two boy gerbils for three years, before they passed away of old age and they were such sweet little guys. We loved em. I have never had hamsters or mice though, so I can't say.

Well, I would have to say rats, but only because they are more affectionate. Hamster are definatly second, simply because they are soooo adorable!
