Its a myth most barbs nip they all get banded together because of tiger barbs being agressive, cherry barbs are one of the peaceful barbs and they keep themselves to themselves, the tetras cause more trouble then the barbs by delibrately sitting where Bruce (my betta) likes to sit

It seems that the breeding season for Betta's is sometime between the Autumn and Winter when the take them from the wild and breed them for sale in shops, and seeing as I want to keep an eye out for a velvet green specimen I may have to wait it out for now.

mind you there are quite a few Red, Blue and Blue and Red sopecimens out there, I may get a new tank and unit for my tropicals after the contractors have started and then finished the work in my flat.

So what do you think should I wait for the chance of a Green betta to come up or should I go for another colour.

?

?

Hmm looks like the only colours available over here are blue and red, everyone else has these realy fancy coloured bettas, Yellow Green, albino a Blue and Red combi's.

But all we seem to have in the shops here is tiddly Red or blue ones.

mind you I did see one big and blousy Red one the other day that was quite nice, seemed to me like a one off, but I am set on a green one or an unusual one.

After all I am always one to be different, I suppose only time will tell.
