2 betta questions

I have two male bettas and 3 females. All my females live in a 10 gallon.each of my males lived in a 2 gallon. But recently I got a 50 gallon and fixed it up and added 3 blackskirt tetras and 1 algea eater.I added one of my male bettes in this morning and he is loving it and everything is peaceful. My question is: Can I add my 3 females of will the mate for shure? I dont want that.Or being as I have 3 other fish in the tank can I add another male with no fighting?

I personally wouldn't do that because even if they don't mate, he will probably keep harassing them and they could even fight.

I've heard of people having two males in a large tank but I wouldn't risk it, myself.

I believe they just have a bunch of plants and places to hide and since the tank is so big the males develop their own territories. But remember that this rarely works out and like I said, I wouldn't recommend it.

No I wouldn't reccommend having 2 males together either, even if you have a large tank and several hiding places.Eventually they would find eachother and fight. It is their nature...

No, I wouldn't either. They (as Vanilla Rat said) will eventually fight. I wouldn't risk it.

I agree with the above posts i wouldn't ever put two males together as they will fight no matter how many hidey holes you give them or places to hide as they are very territorial. They are even quite hard to breed due to the males not liking their own kind too much. I wouldn't suggest putting the females in either due to simular reasons of either them ganging together and bullying him or vice versa as the end result could be nasty and also you have said you don't want babies and there is always the chance that they would breed!
