Question All these topics seem to be about fish, but...

What about other pond-friendly critters?
Ducks, geese, frogs? We're getting Pekin ducks for our pond, and they're much more sociable than fish. Fish are great, but this is for pond animals. Why aren't there any topics about other lovely pond creatures?

I'd think they fall under birds, ...for questions like health, husbandry, etc.

...at least, that's where I'd expect to find them.

Yeah, but they also live near/in ponds.

True, but so do some snakes, salamanders and frogs. I still think we'd group them under reptiles and amphibians. I can't say that I know for sure what Steph (Jade) had in mind when she set up the various sections, but it looks to me like the groupings are done by the type of animals, not by where they live. Otherwise we'd have sections like Forest, Plains, Savannahs, Deserts, etc.

...so yeah, I think I'd put any duck/goose questions in the bird area.

Frogs would go under amphibians and ducks would go under birds...

Of course I know that ducks and frogs wouldn't be considered aquatic. Don't take me as an idiot. Anyway, under "Aquatic discussion" it says, "Talk about your aquariums or ponds and their occupants here!"

PONDS.
Ducks in live in/near ponds, as do some frogs.
So I can talk about ducks if I want to.

It means koi and other pond fish...ducks and frogs would go into those catagories, "birds" and "amphibians"...

Nobody is calling you an idiot, so you don't need to get defensive or saucy.

Talk about them where ever you want. No one will take you for an idiot ...if you don't act like one. I thought you were just being funny with the first post, but if it's that big a deal that you need to get upset about it, ... do what you want.

Actually, I was being funny, but everyone seemed to take it as such a big deal.
