Badeeni is sick

One of my fish- a platy- has a lump on his side. he is swimming fine and no one else looks like they have a lump. you can't see it when looking in the tank but when i cleaned it and could see him from above he has a lump. it doesn't have a different color, he's black and yellow and its black on the black part of him.

he didn't have it the last time i cleaned about 2 weeks ago.

Ideas?

It's difficult to diagnose lumps in fish and they can be caused from many things (viruses, bacterial infections, tumors, etc.). Not all are harmful so if your fish is acting fine then I wouldn't worry just yet.

Are the scales raised at all? How large is it? Could you maybe get a picture?

did this lump grow or suddenly pop up..could also be some constipation or perhaps he ate a pebble or something large
