CAE can they live in a tank with no heater?

I've had Pea, my chinese algae eater, for now over 9 months. I bought him without knowing that they are aggresive and territorial but found that out after I did some research. Until now my fish have done OK with him in the tank (but I think the other CAE I bought with him died from stress as he kept chasing him very aggresively), but recently he's started being aggresive again for no reason and fearing for the health of my fish I've moved him to a tank with no heater as I don't have any more heaters in the house. Will this kill him? Should I buy a heater tomorrow morning for him? Or can he live without one? Even though he is a bully I have really grown fond of him and still want to keep him just that it will have to be on his own.

Thanks in advance

It depends on room temperature. Does that tank have a thermometer? If the aquarium stays in the mid to high 70's (Fahrenheit) on it's own then you don't need one.
