coldwater fish???

Well, our tank only has a placotamus (spelling??), an algae eater and a dwarfed catfish left in our tank. The others were old and the last fish passed away. We would like to put some more interesting and colorful, possibly bigger fish into our tank. I believe it is a 30 gal tank. . The water generally stays around 70f. Any info would help. Ty.

Your Plecostomus should be in a bigger tank. and in water that stays around 70f u could get guppies, tetras, platys, mollies, ect.

Unless your pleco is one of the smaller species (like a bristlenose), I agree that you'll need a larger tank.

As for coldwater fish, white cloud minnows are favorites of mine . They're small, peaceful, active schooling fish and are very pretty. There are even long-finned and golden varieties. Rosy barbs and zebra danios would also do fine in a cooler tank. Some tetras would be fine as long as the water doesn't ever get colder than 70 (which could happen). Just avoid neon tetras as they prefer warm water (in the high 70's).
