Couple Newbies

Got another black khuli loach today, now I have two.I used to have alot more, but after awhile they passed on.They are really hard to get in Newfoundland, only ONE supplier. He is a guy I trust tho,as he is VERY knowlagable bout fish and fish keeping.Anyway within the next few days I hope to get another 2 or 3.

I also got a pair of weather loaches (dojo's).I used to have them a few yrs ago and really loved them,so I got a pair.

Just thought I would share.

Yep!!
He is the only supplier in Newfoundland (or maybe just St.Johns) of black khuli loaches. They are $6 each or 2 for $10.

Know what? Like 10 minutes after I got home and dealing with buses and whatnot,I found Steph was out to Paul's place!! If I didn't get the bus right away,I coulda met up with her.

Congratulations! I love loaches, specially kuhli's! I used to have 2 black ones, but they passed. Right now I have 2 regular ones. 8) I also have a skunk loach. I've been wanting some clown loaches for some time now.

I only ever had one regular khuli loach! And never found them again. And like I said there is only ONE supplier of the black guys here! But they are awesome too.

I am a huge fan of loaches as well and I really want a clown loach as well.Once I am moved,I am investing in a couple more tanks! And then I shall get my clown loach!

They are some types of bottom-dwelling fish. Also called botias. You can see here about them, and it has pictures of kuhli, clown, weather and skunk loaches so you can see the type of fish we have/want. Loaches Online - Community Edition — Loaches Online

Congrats! Hope you have a top on that tank, cuz I had one that jumped out and dried up on the floor..uckie. I have three or four though, they hide a lot but are great for eating unwanted snails and leftover food.

I love Dojos, too, I have four and they are my favorite kind of fish. Have you ever interacted with them underwater? Stick your hand in, all of mine except one will suck on my finger and 'kiss' it and swim through my fingers. They're such sweethearts! The only one that won't do it is Grenade, a big 4 or 5 inch long Gold Dojo, he was a big guy when I got him and wasn't interacted with at all at the pet store, so

Oh, and also, on Aquabid they usually have a ton of Kuhlis for sale in the Loach section...here's the link straight to the Kuhlis, I dont think they have any right now but keep going there because I always see like 10+ for sale for really cheap.
AquaBid.com - Your Aquatic Auction Website

Oh, and in case you didn't know, they love to live in groups of 4 or more, so you might want to buy 3 or 4 the next time you go to the only supplier

Once again, congrats! Kuhlis are awesome, even though they dont interact with peope much, they are really cool looking and I think its awesome how they can bury themselves in the garvel. Cool little guys!

I'm jealous of your large fish collection
I only have a 20 gallon,heh.
so 5 fish & a snail atm.

But you can get those loaches in Walmart Lisa seriously o_O.
I saw them in Gander off& on & they were cheaper than $6.
Like $3 something for one.
My aunt got 8 of em.& They are Kuhli Loaches
I havent seen them in Walmart last couple times but I haven't been paying attention much because I don't really have room for any additional aquatic animals
Unless someone in my family wants to treat me to a 55 gallon or something (like that'll happen )

Thanks guys.
I have had both khuli loaches and weather (dojo) loaches before,so I know about them! But thanks for the info anyway.

Melissa - you sure they are khuli loaches at Wal-Mart? I know they sell dojo's at the Wal-Marts here, but they do not sell khuli's here.Only "Tropical & Marine Pets" sells them in the city.

110% positive Walmart in Gander sold them off & on.
They had them instead of the newts that I wanted.
& As I said I had no room for additional aquatics.
But it's not just my aunt that has them.
I know of 2 other people in my town.& My little cousin has 1 dojo.
& She got that in Grand Falls.
