Dojos Loaches ?

I'm jealous of Nikko's Worm Dude...very jealous.

So know I am thinking of getting one, before I steal Nikko's.

How big of a tank do they require? I keep getting different sizes on different tanks - minimum 40g,30g,20,g right down to 15g.What's right?

I have a 28.73 gallon (I measured - L=29.5'' W=12.5'' H=18'')

Would I dojo loach be able to happily live in that size tank, with lots of hides and stuff?

I love Dojos.
Great fish.I used to keep them.
I never had them in yrs tho and when I did keep them,I kept them in 10-29 gallon tanks.By the way,I only housed ONE in the 10 gallon and that was yrs ago before I knew much about them.I used to also have bins set up as tanks and kept them in those. Now I probably wouldn't put them in anything less then a 29 gallon.

However the tank MUST be covered...they are big-time escape artists!! My youngest sister found that out the hard way.One morning she was sleeping on my floor, near one of my tanks and woke up to a squirming loach on her face! Hahahaha...he jumped out.

I am wanting these guys again.

Thanks for the info.. I haven't been able to find them (only place I've even seen them was Wally World).

Anyways the tank is now going to be South American.

You may not take him!!!!! He's MINE....FOREVER!

My tank is a 26 gallon and he looks happy in there to me.

Vanillarat is right though, you definitely need to have a lid on your tank. Worm Dude jumped out when I was cleaning the tank once....full of cat hair, ewwy! He survived though.

Haa Haaa Haaa! See what you have started?! After those pictures, I had to go out and find one too, but couldn't get one like yours, but ended up getting the orange ones. What are they called? They are just as much fun but orange! I'll try to post a picture of them later.
