down to 2 mollies! my gosh.....

Another mollie died yesterday. I checked and the ammonia is fine, it always reads as the lowest indicator colour possible. Glad i bought 4 fish HAHAHAHAHA I KNEW this would happen. I have such bad fish karma lol. So now I have 2 mollies, 2 oto cats, and 1 zebra snail. Also, i have a pink and black granite rock cave swim through thing. That will help my snail's shell right? Both rock tings in my tank are real rock. But yeah, the mollies.....yeesh...that's all I have to say about that lol. I don't have any nitrate/nitrite tests, but if the ammonia is okay then im probably safe eh?

Since you dont have any nitrate/nitrite tests, could you take some tank water to the petstore to be tested? Have you been doing regular water changes?

You should really try to do a water change at least once a week, more often if your tank is heavily stocked.. i try to do about 15-20% each time, don't forget to dechlorinate the water you add back.. and the water you take out is great for house plants, if you have any.

I am sorry you lost another.

Mollies are not as hardy as pet stores tell you.I have never been able to keep mollies alive, but my mom has had really good luck with them.

Mollies need a little bit of salt in their tank. They like brackish water.

not really...you could have no ammonia but your nitrite could still spike or your nitrate is way too high...bc in the cycle ammonia is first broken down getting to nitrite and other bacteria are able to use this and turn it to nitrate..you really need to get a kit that will test all these vital things..mollies are very sensitive and can easily be affected by bad water....also you need to do 25% water changes EVERY week..you cant slack on this..bc this is vital for reducing your nitrites..otherwise if you dont think you need to do it that often you need to test your water quality...its VERY crucial...or you will just keep on loosing more fish

sorry if this sounded mean...but really this is what needs to be done, i didnt know what was the best way to put it..

I agree that you really need to have your nitrites and nitrates tested. Petstores do it for free.
