Eggs? Or what?

Okay I have another question. Today we just noticed little round white balls in Mikey's tank. Jay and I aren't sure what they are. Jay was worried that they were ick but I really don't think so. Then he said he wondered if they were eggs. I looked and I think that our Mikey is a girl! She is alone in the tank. We have not added any plants. She/He is fine. We have very happy fins. We had a little bit of amonia but nothing horrible.
So what do you guys think?

They sound like infertile eggs to me.

Ich doesn't just appear around the tank, it would be on the fish.

Oh good! I guess we have a girl!! It's crazy though they are all over the tank! We have a turtle ornament in there and it looks like most of them are on that. But they are also on the treasure chest, the tree, the filter - I knew they laid a lot of eggs I am just surprised they are not mostly in one spot. Do we need to clean them out?

Yeah, you'll want to clean them out so they don't rot.

Ok. I am so glad I asked. I will tell her daddy he needs to clean them out. I can't believe she actually laid them! I would have thought that a male fish would need to be present but I guess not. Now I am wondering if that is why she seemed so spastic lately. Thanks so much!

Sometimes they lay them even when they live alone although I'm not sure how common it is.

No problem .

She is so much calmer now. She was being a bit of a spaz right before she laid the eggs. Actually for a while before she laid them. I kept thinking to myself that fish were supposed to be peaceful to watch but Mikey was such a nut. Now she is calm relaxed. She still likes to eat but is not as frantic about eating. I am really hoping that now we can get to know her better. We think Jay got almost all of the eggs out - but there were so many and they were small. He usually does partial water changes often - so hopefully if there are any remaining that the filter doesn't get he will get them in the other water changes.
